Can I take this product if I have arthritis, osteoporosis or spina bifida?

Turmeric Mega tablets are intended to be used for joint pain. Turmeric has been studied and shown effective for helping with joint pain and joint inflammation in people with arthritis. A few more recent studies also demonstrated benefits for maintaining bone density. There are however no studies on the use of turmeric for spina bifida.

How long does it take to feel the beneficial effects?

Most studies evaluated effectiveness after 3-6 months of supplementation.

It is known Turmeric can have negative effects, is this true?

When turmeric is taken in very high amounts it can aggravate stomach problems and acid reflux, kidney stone formation or negatively interact with certain medications (for diabetes, blood thinning, iron supplements, cardiac medication and chemotherapy).

Is it safe to take this product if you are on blood thinners?

There are no interactions listed with blood thinners at the recommended Turmeric Mega dosage, but some reports show that turmeric also has minor blood thinning properties which can cause an additive effect on blood thinning (easy bruising and difficulty to stop bleeding). If you are taking blood thinners and combine with larger amounts of turmeric, please consult a pharmacist or doctor.

Will it cause an interaction with anti-inflammatory medications?

There are no known interactions of turmeric with anti-inflammatory medications.
